Roora/Lobola Squad Drama: Bride’s Sister Sets The Record Straight
Social media users were in for a treat this week after it emerged that a bride Mpho Dube, also known as Plaxedes was dumped after one of the members of the roora/lobola’s squad allegedly told the bride’s groom, identified by social media police as Hastings, that the child he has been taking care of was not his after a truth or dare confession drinking game.
Amidst all the rumors and speculations that are circulating on social media Plaxedes’s sister, Tariro Shiri who is at the center of the roora squad drama set the record straight today as she revealed that the whole drama was sparked by a lie.
Tariro refuted claims purporting that Plaxedes is alleged to have lied to Hastings, about the paternity of their child only for the truth to be spilled in August last year when the lobola took place, prompting a DNA test which proved correct.
She said there was no truth or dare or drinks at the party.
In a phone call conversation that is currently trending on social media, Tariro told Sweden-based Zimbabwean socialiteTatelicious Karigambe-Sandberg, that the initial post that set social media ablaze was actually false. She revealed that the post was paid for and that it was a lie that a drunk squad member snitched on Plaxedes during the party.
Tariro allegedly claimed that a social media user only identified as Julie was paid to post the lies on her social media handles.
She said efforts to retract the story have proven to be futile as Julie said she could not take down the post as she was paid to post it
During the phone call, Tariro also refuted claims that a DNA test was conducted to confirm the paternity of the child stating that a DNA test had not been done on Hastings and Plaxedes’s son.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Hastings is demanding for a paternity test to be done on Plaxedes son so that he can confirm if the baby in question is his son or not. Posting on his Instagram today he said;
Tariro claims that after the whole drama set social media ablaze, she received death threats as many suspected that she was the one who leaked the secrets. She said this prompted her to reach out to Hastings and Plaxedes so that they can clear her name.
Meanwhile, the whole roora/lobola squad came under fire with allegations that one of her friends was also attracted to the man and decided to pour cold water on the promising union.
Critics even went on to blame the roora squad member who snitched on the bride for feigning drunkenness just to spoil the day.
The hype went into overdrive with people questioning the sincerity of the one who spilled the beans.
The lobola/roora squad drama has since left people on social media divided as many questioned if it was necessary to have a lobola squad in the first place. Some social media users were of the view that social media pressure is the one that was prompting couples to have a lobola/roora squad even if they weren’t keen on the idea.
