Charismatic billionaire celebrity prophet Shepherd Bushiri who recently lost his daughter has graduated from the University, of Lilongwe with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration.
In a Facebook post, the embattled leader wrote:
“All I was looking for, in the past four years I was in class, was not the gown and the wisdom hat I wore today. I went to school to acquire knowledge and understanding so that I can manage my affairs with excellence and professionalism.
It is a great deal to add a degree in Business Administration (BBA) – just to have a deep insight on business principles. The Bible says; “to your faith, add knowledge.”
I am extremely happy because I have achieved what I aspired. What happened today just fueled my hunger to learn more and aspire even further.
Thanks to all who stood with me in the four years I toiled with lectures and assignments. God bless you!”
In 2017, Bushiri graduated with a PhD in Philosophy from an American University. Following an interview with journalists, Bushiri said:
“It is always a special day when one graduates, moreso, with a Doctorate degree. A PhD is extremely invaluable, and priceless, hence few people ever achieve that feat in life. But i must state that, i value my prophetic calling more than any degree, or qualification on earth”, he told reporters gathered to witness the event.
Bushiri and his wife Mary fled SA after being released on R200,000 bail. The couple and their co-accused — Landiwe Ntlokwana, Willah Mudolo and his wife Zethu — face charges of theft, money laundering and fraud in connection with an alleged R100m investment scheme.
The SA government applied for the Bushiris’ extradition in December.
The couple claim they fear for their lives in SA.
